Program Content of the marriage preparation group:

The two group sessions cover such topics as communication and active listening, assertiveness, conflict resolution, budgeting, goal-setting, family dynamics and a brief overview of parenting resources.

There will also be one 1 1/2 hour individual session with Rev. Stevenson, focusing on the couple's strengths, growth areas and their particular family dynamics.

There will be a follow-up session with your pastor to review the program results and prepare for the wedding service.


Marriage Preparation Program Resources:

The Marriage Preparation Program makes use of two different written tools. The Prepare/Enrich Premarital Inventory helps couples identify areas of strength and growth across a wide range of relationship topics.  The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator helps couples understand and appreciate their differences.

Cost:

Cost includes two inventories, a workbook and an enrichment book.

A marriage mentoring program is available at some churches, pairing each engaged couple with a seasoned married couple who can become a resource as the newlyweds journey through their new life together.
